DHFA IS COMMITTED TO BEING AN INCLUSIVE SPACE
One of the oldest manuscripts in the world (MS I.33 from the 1320's) depicts a priest teaching his student a rising sequence of techniques and counters. Near the end of the manuscript, a new figure appears: a woman named Walpurgis. She steps in as the priest’s equal, demonstrating the same advanced plays with unmistakable authority.
DHFA is an inclusive space not just for men, but for all women, the LGBTQ+ community and all black, indigenous and other people of color who may need a space of kindness and support.
We are devoted to the cause of treating all human beings equitably, kindly, and fairly - not just within the walls of our organization, but outside as well.
DHFA offers scholarship memberships to those who qualify.
